Supporting Students In Need
The Stuart Elliot Student Assistance Fund was established in 2021 in an effort to help all students reach their full potential by removing cost barriers for students in need.
Application Guidelines
Parents and students cannot request funds. Only LPS administrators, teachers, counselors, club sponsors, or social workers may apply for funds on behalf of a student. All requests are then reviewed by the student’s school principal.
The following criteria shall be considered in the order listed below in determining whether the requested assistance shall be provided:
- The financial ability of the student’s family to provide the needed assistance.
- The availability of funds in the Stu Elliott Student Assistance Fund to pay for the needed assistance.
The importance of the requested assistance to the student's ability to thrive in their school.
The Foundation for LPS does not reimburse students or their families -- preferring to instead reimburse LPS accounts. If necessary, FLPS can pay vendors directly (with an invoice + tax), or reimburse LPS staff.
