2024 Recipients

Jose Cabrera Azamar

Belmont Elementary
5th Grade
Nominated By: Teacher Bobbie Ehrlich

Jose is an individual that no matter who is in his presence, he knows how to make them feel special and how to elevate them. His sincerity and kind way that he connects with people, makes a positive difference in the lives of others. He leads by example that all people matter and that education has a significant value in the lives of everyone.

As a scholar, Jose demonstrates his commitment by always engaging with instruction by sharing his thinking and complimenting his peers' ideas. He asks questions to clarify instruction as he genuinely wants to learn. Jose knows that education creates power and opportunity in the world.  He is responsible with all assignments as well as seeks feedback to learn, grow, and "polish" his projects.  Jose uses his strengths to improve his needs. He puts the effort into aspects of his learning that may challenge him more than others - he doesn't shy away from doing hard better!

Jose is proud of his family - both his personal family and his Belmont family. His spirit for others and their well being is demonstrated by the way he really listens to others, encourages people, and takes the time to really get to know people. He can fit into some many different situations because Jose makes others feel comfortable and cared about. He celebrates his older brother and protects his younger. He is inspired and motivated by his parents and wants to make them proud.

Jose lives the heart and soul of what being a difference maker in our Belmont family is all about - he lives and leads with kindness, respect, and drive for growth!
