Lynn is an outstanding para educator. She is very reliable and shows commitment to her job. She is a team player when working with individual children under the supervising teacher’s direction to meet the child’s needs. Lynn is familiar with the needs and strengths of all her students. Lynn is able to follow directions and is very efficient. She carries out all her assigned duties with a smile and positive attitude. She goes above and beyond. Lynn stays at school until the job is done. She has purchased toys and books and brought them to school to use with students. She has brought materials from home for our creation station in our classrooms that all students can use in the classroom.
Lynn strives to learn new strategies and techniques to use when working with her special education students. She has taken workshops, attended after school meetings to learn more about assistive technology, and even on a plan day has met to discuss and be a team player on a student she works with. She is always looking for ways to improve.
Lynn has excellent communication skills with the teachers she works with. She shares her valuable input with the teachers. Lynn always listens and follows directions. Lynn shows willingness to assist and support the teacher anyway she can. Lynn maintains confidentiality at all times when working with students. She also assists children with reinforcing their self-help skills, communication skills, personal-social skills, behavioral skills, academic skills, and other developmental skills. Lynn is very enthusiastic and dedicated to helping children learn and be successful. She develops a rapport with ALL students in the classroom, not just the special education students. Students are always eager to see and get to work with Mrs. Hunzeker. She is very patient and kind.
Another staff member states "Not only has she stepped in as my mentor, texting me in the evenings making sure I don’t have any questions about how the day transpired, but she has become a friend that has attended charity events with me and met my family, etc." Lynn has worked at Cavett for many years and treats her kiddos firmly, but with love and kindness. Even speaking with past students from Cavett, they always perk up when her name is mentioned and state, ”Oh, I remember her. She was awesome!”
Lynn is dedicated to inspire and provide all students the best educational opportunity. Everyday Lynn displays her enthusiasm and enjoyment working with the children and teachers at Cavett. We are so lucky to have her at Cavett and appreciate Lynn's kind heart and years of service to our school community.
