Zedekiah "Zed" Mock

Elliott Elementary
5th Grade
Nominated By: Assistant Principal Rudi Wolfe

Zed choses kindness with every word and action. He cares about people and no matter if they agree or disagree with his opinion or choice he recognizes the other as a person with value. He sets high goals for himself, works hard, and realizes that when people around him succeed he also succeeds. Zed inspires me to choose kindness with every word and action no matter the person or situation. Zed inspires the community around him with the joy of being positive, setting high goals to reach, practicing a growth mindset, and truly seeing value in all humans.

He was in my class in third grade and he was an exemplary student. He was kind, thoughtful, took ownership of mistakes, helped others, and participated in positive ways. Since his time in third grade, I have witnessed him helping others and he is a very well spoken advocate for others when he sees that they are in need. Examples include helping students in the hallway that are lost, speaking to an adult when he sees a student being treated unkindly by another student, using his words to talk to peers in difficult situations (i.e. I think you may hurt so and so's feelings...). I feel he would be a great candidate for the award.
